Maddie’s Senior Portrait Session

There’s something incredibly meaningful about photographing senior portrait sessions in places that feel like home. Maddie’s senior session took us through some of the most beautiful spots Port Washington has to offer. From the charm of downtown to the calm of Lake Michigan and finishing with golden sunset portraits in a flowery field, this session was equal parts stylish, joyful, and timeless.

Downtown Port Washington: Classic & Confident

We began Maddie’s session in downtown Port Washington, where historic architecture and local shops set the tone for a polished, editorial feel. Downtown sessions always bring such great energy, and Maddie stepped right into it with confidence and ease! This portion of the session felt classic yet modern and fun. Most of my seniors decide to start their sessions here, and it’s no secret as to why! It’s a great location with a huge variety of backgrounds and colorful elements. South Beach: Effortless & Carefree

Next, we made our way down to South Beach. The sun had just dipped below the trees and created a golden glow. The lake breeze, rolling waves, and wide-open shoreline instantly create a sense of beauty and calm. This part of the session felt light, joyful, and full of movement.

South Beach is always one of my favorite Port Washington locations for senior photos because it allows space to just be. Whether it’s sitting in the sand or walking along the beach, the lake is a great place to make the space your own.

Sunset in the Flowers: Soft, Dreamy & Golden

As the sun began to set, we headed to a flowery field for the final portion of Maddie’s session—and it was pure magic. Golden hour light poured across the field, wrapping everything in warmth and softness. This location brought a dreamy feel that balanced the session perfectly.

We slowed things down here as the sun was setting and the light continued to soften. Maddie brought out one of her favorite things to include in her session – books! I absolutely love it when my seniors incorporate items that are important to them into their session. It was the perfect ending to an amazing session. Sunset portraits always have my heart, and this ending felt like the perfect exhale to a beautiful evening.
