There are so many beautiful locations in Southeastern Wisconsin, particularly in Ozaukee County, for amazing senior portraits! Whether you prefer a downtown area with local shops and businesses, the beach, or the forest, Ozaukee County has it all! As you plan your senior session, here are some locations to consider!
Downtown Port Washington
Downtown Port Washington is one of my favorite places to go for senior sessions! There is no shortage of great spots to stop for gorgeous photos. The abundance of flowers along N. Franklin Street, the small shops on each side of the street, and St. Mary’s Church serve as stunning and unique backdrops for beautiful portraits! As an additional fun fact, Port Washington was recently featured by Family Destinations Guide as an amazing place to visit! Check out the article here!

Rotary Park & Coal Dock Park
A hop, skip, and a jump away from downtown Port is Rotary Park and Coal Dock Park! Both parks are located right along Lake Michigan, are next to each other, and provide gorgeous views. With boats, birds, and even the Port Washington light house, there is no shortage of great places to stop for portraits!

North & South Beach
Popular locations for sunset portraits include both North and South Beach. South Beach just happens to be the spot where the famous Port Washington flamingoes decided to make their stop in September of 2023! The landscape is stunning and, if the stars align, you’ll be lucky enough to catch a sailboat in the background! The flamingoes were lucky that day and so were area residents to experience it!

Sauk Creek Nature Preserve
Next up on the list is Sauk Creek Nature Preserve in Port Washington. This hidden gem provides 27 acres of natural beauty complete with trails, a bridge, long grasses, and of course, Sauk Creek! This session was completed around golden hour, approximately two hours before sunset, when the sunlight filtered through the trees and provided that dreamy, golden light.

Lion’s Den Gorge Nature Preserve
The Lion’s Den Gorge Nature Preserve in Grafton is another popular location for senior portraits. There are several wooded paths the lead all throughout the 73-acre preserve. There is also a boardwalk located upon entry and one further into the preserve, many wooded trails, and amazing views of Lake Michigan!

Downtown Cedarburg & Cedar Creek Park
Last but certainly not least, historic downtown Cedarburg and Cedar Creek Park are both amazing locations for a session! Like Franklin Street in Port Washington, Washington Avenue in Cedarburg is full of nostalgic charm with its historic buildings, shops, bridges, and so much more. Cedar Creek Park is a popular destination as well and within walking distance of downtown.
